Dr. Colin M. Feeney is currently Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, the Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit, 1989 - present, the Division Chief, Critical Care Medicine 2003 - present, the Director of Medical Education 2012 - present, the Chairman of the Library Committee 1995 - present, and on the Critical Care Committee since 1988. He has been on the California Transplant Donor Council at Highland General Hospital, Oakland since 2009. He is also East Bay Site Director 2005- present, and Associate Program Director 2011- present of the Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship Program, California Pacific Medical Center/ Alameda County Medical Center, Highland General Hospital, Oakland, California

Dr. Feeney received his BA, Cum Laude from Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1975. He went on to earn his M.D. in 1979 at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Internship and Residency, 1979 - 1983, were at Highland General Hospital, Oakland, California. He received his medical licensure in 1980 and his training culminated as Chief Resident, achieving Resident of The Year 1983 - 84. Dr. Feeney’s board certifications include American Board of Internal Medicine 1983 - Present with subspecialty qualification in Critical Care Medicine 1987-2017 and Palliative Care and Hospice Medicine 2012-2022.

Dr. Feeney never left Highland because of his strong desire to give back to the community and help the underserved population and it shows. He was selected Teacher of the Year five times and voted Best Bay Area Internist 1993, San Francisco Focus, outstanding Physician of the Year ACMC 2002, Henry J. Kaiser Award for Excellence in Teaching 2006, Employee Excellence Award ACMC 2009, Top Doctors in America 2012-13, US news and World Report. Dr. Feeney has been involved in numerous research studies and has been published in various prestigious medical journals
